Settled in 1790, Pierson’s Farm is one of the Hudson Valley’s historical landmarks. Today the farm is owned by Orrin Pierson, a 7th-generation farmer, and his wife Jackie. They have four adult daughters and 270 acres of beautiful property.
All six generations before us were dairy farmers until the late 1970s, when Orrin’s father Stephen sold the dairy cattle. He then bought two hundred sheep and raised them for their wool and meat.
In 1999 Stephen started clearing the land of brush to make way for a new venture: Christmas trees. He planted over 5,000 Douglas Firs, White Pines, and Norway Spruce. Orrin and Jackie took over in 2009 and have been running the farm ever since — raising grass-fed Black Angus cattle, pastured pork, growing pumpkins, sunflowers, and continuing the Christmas tree tradition.
We love what we do and hope you’ll come visit us to see for yourself what makes this farm special. The gates open in late summer for sunflower season, followed by fall pumpkin picking, and then Christmas trees in November and December.
